The camp is most well known as actually being the conversion after The Martian movie wrapped up filming. The heart of the city is the Jabal district but you’ll notice that outside of the Intercontinental, many of the luxury hotels are located a short cab away. Most luxury properties in Amman are fairly new or have been renovated and are all located in a similar area. The area isn’t very walkable and will be about a 10 minute cab ride to the city center filled with shops, restaurants, cafes, and more.
