If you need to request a refund on American Airlines you can simply go to www.refunds.aa.com to get started.
The company has made it easy by launching a dedicated site to handle ticket or flight coupon refunds.
By entering your information online you will immediately get feedback to say whether or not your ticket is eligible. You’ll also then be given additional options regarding your ticket such as requesting a receipt.
Enter your document number and passenger name before your ticket eligibility is verified. You must submit a refund request for each individual document in a record locator.
You must also cancel the reservation for each applicable reservation by accessing the My Reservations section of AA.com.
On www.refunds.aa.com you can also view your American Airlines ticket in case you need to print it for purposes of records or expense reports. To view or print, simply provide the document number and passenger name.
Award ticket to get mileage reinstated need to be cancelled on AAdvantage section of AA.com.
If all else fails you can request a refund for a paper ticket by mailing in your original coupons before the request can be processed. Send them by regular mail to:
